11. The Embodied Experience
One cannot change these aspects of Natural Law, but one can change the perspective of these aspects in relation to self.

Eleven signifies the sense of home in relation to the physical self. If One signifies the step towards knowledge despite the lack of knowledge in how to apply it functionally, Eleven functions to reveal this by means of reflection. As was expanded upon in 10. Sacral Center: Initiation, the initiation was by means of shock; this shock indicates the emergence of the primitive forms of emotional awareness: the sense of being uncomfortable, exposed, and alone in contrast to what was the birthright entitlement (comfortable, contained, and “All One”). The sense of shock (being vulnerable and exposed) led to the pressing of the newly-emerged roots into their instinctive directions. After the shock of this has subsided, relief is found in knowing that life goes on: the senses of being nourished, protected, and held comes to take new meaning by means of recognizing the reality outside of self-control (cannot change these aspects of Natural Law, but can change the perspective of them in relation to self).
In this way, the seedling “in vitro” comes into recognition of instinct. Although what need be done isn’t known intellectually, it is nonetheless being done. The seedling does not need to understand the function of the roots down to a molecular exchange with the water and minerals latent in the soil, or the concept of concentration gradients, or etc., to recognize that whatever these little extensions are doing is nourishing and developing the physical self. What was done at first as an instinctive response to shock has come to be a curious exploration in self-development.
The genetic memory continues to guide by means of positive reinforcement, the introduction of pleasure and desire. There is pleasure in the pushing of the roots into the tight spaces of the dampened earth, a reminder of the recent past of being contained within the seed (similar to how instinctively soothing it is for a human to be nestled into a warm space in the fetal position). However, when the expectation of this pleasure is tied to nostalgia without truly recognizing it as such, suffering is born in the effort to return to an experience that cannot be replicated (cannot change these aspects of Natural Law, but can change the perspective of them in relation to self). Although it is nourishing and sustaining, affording its own sense of enjoyment and security, the unachievable desire tied to “becoming created” is the perversion of creativity to instead be fixated on consuming: “feeding the hunger only makes the hunger grow.”
Either way, the biological process is moving forward: the roots are extending outward and deeper, the emerging seedling is slowly becoming stronger, pressing against the earth overhead. As is evident, it is a matter of perspective: if the concept of survival is tied to this unachievable desire (a return to a state void of self-responsibility and participation in life), existence will be continual desperation. If the concept of desire is tied to the curiosity of the unfolding existence, survival will not be a concern. Naturally, sentience oscillates between these states- for tension is still underlying all of the experience which drives the seedling to continue to pursue growth. However, the prevailing state of being is yet to be determined at this time due to the oscillation (between love/security and fear/insecurity).
