Zero signifies what is recognized to exist yet is non-existent in the present. The awareness of this introduces the focused element into the creative process; it is the foundational stone within belief structures. Zero food? Resources? Meaningful connections? Original thoughts? Fulfilling dreams? Even with these, the substance is called into question. Is it truly nourishment if it is poison? For food, this is clearly evidenced; the concept of “original thoughts” can also be within this relation yet can be more challenging to see.
“Metanoia” speaks to this type of recognition: the ability to change one’s mind, to expand it in such a way as to have a new perspective on the world or one’s self. Oftentimes the moment of revelation is the “zero point,” the pivot point into new directions- including new ways of defining these held-to concepts themselves. These elements of the conditioned mind claim consciousness without recognizing the pattern which is generating the reactive narrative; consequently, life becomes an unbroken chain of reactions all-the-while valued to be authentic expression due to the nature of such a deep-rooted pattern.
Reaction then becomes reinforced, celebrated as being in the “flow,” being “real,” protecting defined boundaries around what feels to be vulnerable or sensitive. In this light, are the defined boundaries truly protecting or are they confining? What is the relationship between purity and neglect? Is it truly pure if it can be tarnished or tainted, and thus must be held in a vacuum separate from the Living Reality?
etymology, Metanoia (Greek): meta, altered/higher/beyond; noein, mental perception
