I likewise have a personal philosophy in which everything is Spirit. This is mostly informed by the Pre-Socratics, Stoics and Neoplatonism, but I also diverge in some controversial ways. Anyway, I hold that there is something immaterial that is comprised of the Logos and Life Force, but is also more than the sum of its parts = Spirit. Interested in what the function of Spirit is in your view?
I believe the Beauty of Life comes from the context within the times. Naturally, this will generate controversy against what has proven itself to be "truth" in previous times. That's not to say it is no longer true, but rather is a layer upon which other layers have led up to the day. I would like to hear your views and what you believe is controversial within your outlook. But I will answer your question for now.
"Holding tight to what is right is the illusion that causes confusion."
Asking "what the Function of Spirit" is a very loaded question, and the nature of the answer is tied to the answer itself. Without washing this out into some enigmatic pseudo-philosophical tangent in an effort to avoid the question, I will answer it right now.
The nature of the answer is Paradox: "the Beauty of Life comes from the context within the times." Never before in the human condition have we had such an exposure to information through time (history) and space (cultures and schools of thought). The Function of Spirit, in this time, is to recognize the NEED for RELATIONSHIPS beyond utility/conditions. To empathize with Spirit- to recognize the overwhelming brilliance that exists within the Laws of Nature which govern physics/chemistry/biology/technology/etc., and to understand that these are all upon an evolutionary arc within the human condition.
However! These evolutionary developments have risen out of fear rooted within survival. It would appear that we are now pressing against the "Glass Ceiling of the Mind," and are now needing to face what would seem to be the "Grand Procrastination:" integrating the knowledge, embodying it into practice, and evolving in our aims to trust in humanity and celebrate the miraculous phenomenon that is Existance.....but it isn't enough to just say that and follow a dis-eased lifestyle that maintains superficiality as meaning, generating separation as a function of humanity versus a symptom of the dis-ease.
The Function of Spirit in this time, in my opinion, is to inspire the enterprising nature of humanity towards community- an integration of lifestyles and the development of harmony as a way of life itself. Competition will fail, money-making-agendas veiled behind altruism will fail. Etc. I will keep it here for now...let me know how that sits with you!
Thank you for such a high compliment, Taylor. How often it is that the truth is hidden in plain sight....the Laws of Nature genuinely wish to harmonize with us, it is within our nature and our best interest. Gotta overcome the survival complex and the mythology of purpose...it is time to evolve, and let the survival complex come to its rest....on and on! I'll keep it there for now; thank you again for the kind words in reflection.
